If you’re anything like me and enjoy luxury fashion but don’t necessarily enjoy luxury price tags, then you may already know about Arlettie. If not, consider this your introduction to one of fashion’s best-kept secret.
I first came across Arlettie through TikTok and, like many things online, initially assumed it was just another sample sale website like Showcase but it’s more like it’s big sister.
Arlettie is a members-only platform that gives access to exclusive designer sales, both online and in person (although there is also a free version, you just get access a little later). Founded in Paris, it has built a loyal following among fashion lovers who appreciate quality and luxury but also love the thrill of finding something special at a much better price than retail.
What appealed to me immediately was how different it felt from the constant cycle of online shopping we’re all used to. These days we’re bombarded with advertisements, influencers telling us what we “need”, and endless trends that seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. Arlettie feels slower and more intentional and has seriously luxury brands like Givenchy, Kenzo Paris, Fendi, Ferragamo, J W Anderson, Jimmy Choo etc.
As an Irish woman living in Australia, I’ve always been drawn to European fashion. There is something about the way Europeans approach style that feels different. It’s less about following trends and more about investing in pieces you genuinely love and will wear for years.
Growing up in Ireland in the 1990s and early 2000s, luxury fashion wasn’t really part of everyday life for most people. We had our beloved Penneys, River Island, and Topshop, and if you owned something designer, it was usually saved for very special occasions. Luxury felt aspirational rather than accessible.
Today, things have changed dramatically. Social media has made luxury fashion more visible than ever before, but in some ways it has also made it less special. Everyone sees the same handbags, the same shoes, and the same “must-have” items.
That’s what I find refreshing about Arlettie.
It feels a little bit like being let in on a secret.
The sales are limited. The pieces aren’t available forever. There’s an element of discovery that has largely disappeared from modern shopping. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of identical products, you’re hunting for something unique.
I also appreciate that it encourages a more thoughtful approach to shopping. Rather than buying ten cheaper items that may only be worn a handful of times, it allows people to invest in well-made designer pieces at a more attainable price point.
As someone who loves handbags, this obviously appeals to me. Whether it’s Mulberry, Strathberry, Gucci, Coach, Kate Spade or Tory Burch, I’ve always believed that quality pieces have a place in a wardrobe when they’re genuinely loved and used. The key is buying thoughtfully rather than simply chasing trends.
Fashion should be fun. It should be personal. It should feel exciting.
And perhaps that’s what Arlettie understands so well.
In a world where everything feels instantly available, there is something undeniably appealing about exclusivity, anticipation, and discovering a beautiful piece before everyone else does.
Maybe that’s why so many fashion lovers continue to rave about it.
Sometimes the best fashion finds aren’t the ones everyone is talking about. They’re the ones you stumble across yourself and quietly wonder how you ever lived without them.
