I’m a big fan of BB creams in the summertime. I found last year that it just gets so hot here in Oz that foundation was just sliding off my skin. I felt my skin couldn’t breathe. It was clogged up and clammy and obviously breaking out as a result. I found Maybelline’s Dream Pure BB cream and totally fell in love with BB creams.
I find that I feel heaps more confident when I have a little bit of coverage on my skin so when I saw the new L’Oreal Skin Perfection range, I found my hand and wallet gravitating towards the BB cream. I picked it up in Big W for about $25 which is a little more than Maybelline’s Dream Pure.
L’Oreal’s latest BB Cream is a 5 in 1 tinted instant blemish balm. Apparently it helps to target dark spots, reduce redness, hide imperfections, smooth skin texture and provide hydration for up to 24 hours.
I don’t have any dark spots but it did hide imperfections and leave me with a smoother skin texture but I can’t really vouch for my skin being hydrated for up to 24 hours. I’d say it was more like 6- 8 hours. This could be because it’s coming into summer so it is pretty hot here.
Which leads me into my next plus – it contains SPF 15 to help protect skin from harmful UV rays. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that it has an SPF included. I really think that every skin product whether it’s a face or body cream should have SPF, but I just don’t think SPF 15 is enough for your face. In my opinion, the SPF should be double.
One thing I did find this a great product for was as a primer under my foundation.
It also contains glycerin, allantoin and vitamin CG.
So would I buy this again? More than likely. While it may not to everything it claims to do for me, it does enough to warrant finding it in my shopping bag!
