I was recently delighted to arrive into work to see that RY.com.au had sent me some goodies from ASAP to review. I had heard quite a bit about ASAP before I received this parcel 5 weeks ago but had never tried any products from the brand.
Ry sent me the Daily Facial Cleanser, the Super A+ Serum and Super B complex.
I used the cleanser up until I returned from Ireland (for four weeks in total) as I left it behind accidentally (and am kicking myself for it!). I’ve used the Serum every day and the Super B complex intermittently whenever I felt like I needed it.
When I first opened the daily facial cleanser, I really didn’t think I was going to be posting a positive review as I really didn’t like the smell, but I put my nose to ones side and started to use it.
I started using these products 1.5 weeks before I flew to Ireland in October. Anytime I fly, I find my skin breaks out and becomes really dehydrated. This time, my breakout wasn’t as bad and didn’t last very long at all, in comparison to previous break outs when flying.
The cleanser really worked for me. If you read my blog regularly, you will know I did a course of Microdermabrasion with Kitty & Co in Mayfield (click here if you would like to read about my experience) and that didn’t clear my skin completely but I was happy with the results as my skin was vastly improved. I finished the course of sessions in September.
I found the cleanser to be really gentle on my skin. My skin felt fresh and clean and it cleared my skin. I don’t have many spots at all or blackheads on my nose. I also used the cleanser to take off make up which it did really well. Some cleansers really dry my skin out and this is not one of them – I will be purchasing this again.
The second product I was sent by RY was the Super A+ Serum, which contains retinol.
I have previously used the Skinstitut Retinol Serum which you can read about here.
Retinol is basically Vitamin A which has so many benefits for skin. It’s an antioxidant and is really effective at managing acne and eczema. If you suffer from either you should definitely do some research into Retinol and get advice from a beautician before using it. It worked somewhat for me when using the Skinstitut products. I noticed a big change in my skin. It cleared up quite a bit but I was still wearing make up everyday as I was still breaking out (which didn’t help but I didn’t feel confident).
This product contains Vitamin A (Retinol), Hyaluronic Acid plus a cutting edge Biomimetic Tripeptide to help diminish the appearance of sun damage/pigmentation and assist with skin tone and texture.
The Super A+ Serum REALLY worked for me. It did cause a little bit of redness when I started using it which wasn’t great but I only used it at night before bed so nobody saw me and I wasn’t self conscious about it. It’s not as red now when I use it so I must have built up a bit of tolerance to it. I had some scars from picking spots around my chin which the microderms didn’t get rid of. This has really helped with getting rid of the scarring.
When I was using it, it soaked right into my skin. It didn’t leave any residue and I didn’t mind the smell of this one. I will also be repurchasing this one.
The third product I used was the Super B complex, which contains Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to boost collagen production and reduce pigmentation, Hyaluronic Acid (for 5 times the moisturising power and 50 times the moisture retaining properties to substantially boost skin hydration) as well as vitamins B5 and B9. ASAP also claims this product will improve skin tone and visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps regulate sebum production and reduce appearance of redness including acne skin types.
This had a gel like consistency. I was only using the teeniest bit of this and a little went a long way! I used this in combination with the Super A+ but used this twice a day and the Super A+ at night time.It was super hydrating which was great when I was flying for over 24 hours from Australia to Ireland.
I don’t want you to just take my word for it so here’s me today, in work, with NO make up on! I still have some slight scarring around my chin area, but I am so happy to finally go to work without having the need to wear make up everyday or BB cream.
Thank you to RY.com.au for sending me these products. They have actually changed how I feel about my skin completely!
Clear skin, I’ve finally found you.
