Flannel : 2 Ways to Style a Flannel Dress
I bought this flannel dress ages ago. It’s from River Island. I recently wore it for the millionth time. It literally is my go to for over t-shirts. I have worn it so many times and it goes with EVERYTHING. So often, I am a victim of buyers regret. I thought that would be the case with this but alas I have surprised myself. I have on occasion worn this as a dress but prefer it as a long shirt, worn open. It does have a tie at the back which you can tie to create more of a silhouette.
When I have worn this as a dress, I have tied it in a bow at the front to give myself a waist.
In the above picture, I styled this dress over a River Island ‘Every week is fashion week’ tee. The shorts are Cotton On. I love anything with a little bit of bling but classy bling… Can you even have classy bling? I thought the flannel shirt dress was perfect to tone down the blingyness (Is that even a word?). I also love these comfy wedge trainers. They have a heel in the insole which can be taken out. Perfect for cheating height!
Below, I styled the dress over black ASOS ripped jeans and with an off white singlet – super casual!
It wasn’t until I lived in Australia, that flannel first came onto my radar. Living in country NSW, it was everywhere(!) and I completely understand why. It’s so comfy!
Do you wear flannel? How do you style it?
I love that it can look so different on two very similar outfits.
