What I Wore: Military Inspired Casual
I recently attended a christening in Coffs Harbour which i posted about here. There was a heat wave that weekend with 35 degree weather which made it so difficult to choose what I wanted to wear for the christening and the journey home. Who wants to be sweaty in a 5 hour car journey?! I can’t believe that this year the weather has heated up so quickly so early – It’s only spring.
I opted to go for a really casual military inspired look. I bought these khaki harem pants in French Connection in Melbourne airport for $70 in their sale when I went on a work trip. They are so light weight and silky so they were perfect for this ride home. I paired them with a loose basic vest top from Cotton On. One thing I hate about the heat is when clothes start sticking to your body so this outfit was perfect for the high temps! I also cannot impress upon you how comfy this outfit was.
The rainbow lens sunnies are also from Cotton On. How cool do they look. So many people commented on how the colours change and how different they are. The colours change across blue, green, purple and yellow.
I wore a pair of haviana’s with this outfit only because I went barefoot in the car and needed something that was easy to pop on for the dash into filling stations for toilet breaks. if I was wearing this outfit to an event, I would have popped on some sandals with a bit of bling that are a little more feminine or maybe a pair of cork wedges, if i wanted some height.
** Please excuse my hair in the piccy. It was so hot out that I literally kept it wet and piled it into a bun on the back of my head.
